Shelby Tom 36 (UK)
MOTHER of three who boasts over 100 tattoos across her entire body says she could be the most tattooed mom in the UK. Shelby Toms, 36, is almost completely covered from head to toe in tattoos, having got her first at the age of 17. But she has plans to get even more pieces done in the future, because she says it's her mission that her body — not including her face — is 100 percent covered in artwork. In fact, her passion for ink has recently seen her even go on to win the title of Miss Alternative Model 2019 — a pageant for models for those in the 'alternative community'. "I've got over 100 tattoos, all over my body —my neck, arms, ribs, legs, all over, but not on my face. My face is probably one of the few places I don't want a tattoo! I got my first tattoo at the age of 17, then I just continued round there." says Shelby, a tattooist herself. "I sadly lost my mom and brother to suicide in 2009 and 2015, so from then on I decided that I was going to live life to full and do what I really wanted, which in my case was get lots of tattoos! When I started getting more tattoos and being who I really wanted to be, I almost felt reborn and rediscovered." Shelby is mom to Katlin, 15, Macey, 10, and six-year-old Michael, who all love her tattoos. Both Katlin and Shelby started dabbling in modelling when a friend of Shelby's who's a student photographer asked them to model for her. Following this, photographer friend Debbie Todd suggested Shelby put herself forward for the Miss
Alternative Model 2019 competition, which she went on to win, over 162 other candidates. "I was amazed when I went on to win the competition; I honestly didn't think I would," says Shelby. "I had to do an audition to get to the finals, then do two cat walks before the judges chose me as the winner. Following that I got a modelling contract, which I couldn't believe since I've only been doing it since April. I've done three shoots recently and even have things booked in for next year!" Shelby loves being an ambassador for alternative models and encourages anyone else thinking of doing it to put themselves forward. "I love being an 'alternative model' — it's great for those who are a bit different to your usual stereotypical model. This line of modelling is perfect for all shapes and sizes, where you can truly be yourself and express yourself too! It's really helped build up my confidence, so I'd really encourage anyone else who needs a confidence boost to give it a try too."
FROM one 'Good Place' to another, Kristen spills on heading back to Arendelle.
KRISTEN BELL has done a pretty good job keeping all those Frozen 2 secrets for so long. Her kids on the other hand. Six-year-old Lincoln and her sister, Delta, five, know all there is to know about Frozen 2 thanks to their famous morn and some top secret playtimes. With Frozen 2 about to finally hit the big screen — six long years since the blockbuster first animated movie — Kristen is fairly sure she's got away with letting her girls in on one of the most anticipated sequels of all time. Work on a Frozen follow-up began almost as soon as the first was released with Kristen very much part of the process of deciding what happens next for Anna, Elsa, Olaf and the rest. The result sees the story pick up three years on with sisters Anna and Elsa lured away from Arendelie on a quest to discover the origins of Elsa's magical powers. New songs and high adventure are all part of a movie Kristen dares to say is on a par with the first, Let it Go and all. This time the 39-year-old actress, who married husband Dax Shepard shortly before the first Frozen was released, is looking forward to fully and openly sharing her latest winter wonderland with her girls. At the same time she's excited to be a part of bringing Frozen 2 to the millions who have been desperate for it for so long. Here Kristen talks about lending more than just her voice to Anna, letting her girls in on her big secret and letting it go all over again. Q: How does this sequel differ from the first Frei? KB: First of all, the world has totally changed. All of the colours and visuals that you remember from the first one have totally changed. We go on an entirely.
